The long-awaited Mindful Emotion Programme (MEP) marked its pilot launch with its inaugural batch of 24 participants in Singapore this July. Built on the foundations of the ambitious Mindful Living Programme that all employees across IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group (IMCPAA) are encouraged to experience, MEP is the second signature offering within the Octave Institute’s Quantum Leadership Programme series focusing on the leadership transformation journey.
Honing in on the Relationship dimension of IMC’s Living Habits – a series of guiding principles aimed at fostering well-being among our people – MEP is intentionally designed to be a hands-on, hearts-on experience that brings participants on a journey of self-discovery and transformation to gain deeper emotional resilience, build stronger and healthier relationships, and lead more purposeful lives.
Describing MEP as a “natural next step,” Joanne Teh, MEP Programme Manager and Head of Coaching Practice, IMCPAA, said: “The Mindful Emotions Programme is a rare opportunity for participants to peel back the lid on their internal make-up, to see and touch the significant moments that made them who they are, to cultivate the courage to see more of themselves, and be closely supported in stepping out to adapt to what serves them best in this new era.”
Participants were inducted into the MEP with a guided meditation session led by our Chairman Chavalit Frederick Tsao, followed by an overview of the programme agenda. Over the course of the six-month program, participants will be able to access course materials on The Sangha App for self-learning. They will also bond and support one another through practice groups and experiential in-person workshops.
MEP culminates with two residential retreats later in the year, where participants will have the opportunity to integrate their learnings and breakthroughs.

Thus far, the first three workshops have garnered heartwarming, positive feedback with participants looking forward to deeper explorations into their inner well-being and family relationships.
“Through MEP, I learned to recognise and acknowledge triggering thoughts and emotions, without judgment but with benevolence. I also learned how to let go of thoughts that affect my well-being,” said Ashish Kambo, Manager, Fleet Personnel, IMC Ship Management.
The organising team has plans to expand the programme beyond Singapore so that more employees, including from other parts of the network, can benefit. “MEP is a programme journey with depth that goes beyond the mind, to permeate the soul. This is just the beginning,” shared Joanne.
