In a show of recognition, Unithai Shipyard and Engineering was highlighted in the 2023 Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA Monitoring Awards 2023) for its dedication to good environmental management and conservation practices.
The shining feature that helped it to secure this latest accolade was its shift towards green energy – specifically, solar energy through the installation of solar cell panels. Unithai port has installed over 1,200 solar cell panels on the 3,600 sqm rooftop of the Unithai terminal warehouse. As a result of this alone, it is estimated that greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced by a whopping 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide or its equivalent.
The solar panels have a capacity exceeding 700 KW, with the potential to produce over 980,000 KW each year.
Unithai looks forward to further strengthening its commitment towards sustainable growth. As technology advances, it plans to explore new avenues for innovation so as to support both the environment and the communities it serves.
